As I am comparing the price of moleskine journals and no-name brand I am wondering how on earth are these are the most popular journals on the market right now. They are expensive pieces of paper bonded together, but clients keep asking for them. So I asked myself what is the true benefit of buying this moleskine journal over the others lesser known brands?
We prefer regular Scooters.
Quality – you know if the brands are sold at major retailers you’re going to be receiving a quality product. There are so many brands that are trying to get their products into these stores that you just know they are choosing the best of the best.
Repeat after me – Good quality does not come cheap!
Reputation/Trust – this sort of goes hand in hand with quality. Why? Because if people have used the products and they are good quality the reputation will be high, therefore people will trust them to work.
Excitement/ROI – If you’re working for a company for 20 years and they give you a gift, you wouldn’t be as excited to receive a no name travel mug as you would a beautiful copper insulated trendy water bottle like current hot-brand S’well. Imagine the excitement and joy of receiving this gift. The employee would use it more, your brand would be shown to more people instead of stored away in cupboard, and therefore ROI is greater.
Perceived Value – I hate to be the one to say it but when you get a giveaway that doesn’t work or breaks right away doesn’t it make you think about the quality of the companies products/services? Good quality products make you think highly of the company giving them away.
Nice packaging – for the most part brand name products come in retail packaging, which looks nicer than thrown into a box.
