For the last couple of years, businesses in North America have been struck by a bad economy, forcing employers to downsize, cut back funds, and in many cases, take away bonuses. The economy got so bad that a lot of companies were left with no choice but to take away their employee Christmas parties last year, which is normally a great opportunity for coworkers to mingle with each other in a stress free, fun environment. It’s no surprise that burn–out, stress leave and sick days have in turn, increased. As an employer, it’s important to remember that even in this economy, it is imperative to reward employees and make sure they know their work has not gone unnoticed.
#1 Rewarding employees is effective because it reminds them how valued they are. Keeping a positive atmosphere around your workplace will help employees feel respected. Not only will this encourage them to return the respect to their employers, but it can also help their relationships with co-workers and clients. By maintaining a positive and professional attitude with clients, it gives the company opportunity to grow.
#2 Rewarding employees motivates their co-workers to strive for greatness. If everyone in your office is working at their full potential, just think about how much work will be accomplished. Productivity is the key to a successful company, and your employees are the base of that.
#3 Rewarding employees boosts their attitudes towards work. If an employee dreads coming in each morning, they are more likely to call in sick, use personal days or take a leave of absence due to stress. All of these things cost the company money. By being encouraging and offering rewards, you let your employee know that you’re paying attention.
By having the opportunity to reward your staff with personalized gifts and rewards, it gives you the opportunity to remind them that you care. Don ‘t hesitate to contact Rich Patterson rich@pattersonbrands.com to discuss cutting edge rewards that your employees will love.
