At PBJ Merch Co, our purpose goes beyond great merch — it’s about building stronger, more connected communities. For more than twenty years, we’ve rolled up our sleeves and volunteered our time to causes that matter: supporting local small businesses, championing mental health initiatives, and protecting the environment we all share. That same spirit of giving back drives how we approach every project, every client, and every partnership — because when our community thrives, we thrive too. Below are just a few of the highlights:

REDUCING OUR FOOTPRINT
Our office is located in the thriving city of New Westminster, BC that sits alongside the Fraser River. With the effects of climate change evident in every corner of the world, including our own here in BC, it is more critical now than ever before that we reflect on our behaviours and seriously consider what needs to change.
We firmly believe every little bit counts, so we’ve recently boosted the office yard with by adding a community garden, rainwater harvesting, composting, and a honeybee hive. We are proud One Percent for the Planet sponsors since 2024.
WE SUPPORT SOLAR
We jumped on the opportunity to be become a founding shareholder in the Energy Save New West initiative called the Urban Solar Garden.
These community-owned solar panels installed on the rooftop of the Queensborough Community Center generate renewable energy for the benefit of subscribers in New West.
We are lucky that most of the Patterson Brand team have a less than 15 minute walk to the office. And the company car is an amazingly efficient PHEV.
CONSCIOUS SHIPPING PRACTICES
When shipping locally we always use Novex , the Lower Mainland’s greenest courier and a certified B Corporation. Their fleet of cars are ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEV) or better.
We consider our packaging solutions and want to ensure we do the least amount of harm to the environment. So we use Noissue packaging – an eco-friendly custom packaging company who’s paper is 100% compostable, acid-free and uses soy-based ink.
ACCREDITED SUPPLIER SOURCING
Clients care about the impact their purchasing decisions have. As their supplier, they want the comfort in knowing that we are doing everything we can to ensure the products we source are safe and of high quality.
And, as a distributor, it is our priority to make sure we are dealing with reputable and accredited swag producers and manufacturers.
Quality Certification Alliance (QCA) is a not-for-profit group dedicated to ensuring accountability and responsible sourcing or promotional products. It’s the solution to our concerns regarding the safety and compliance of swag producers and manufacturers.
We make every effort to source our swag exclusively from the 47 accredited QCA suppliers.
PRODUCTS TESTING MATTERS
We go above and beyond the expectations of our clients by using a world-renowned testing service to test items for lead phthalates and other harmful substances. We do it because it’s the right thing to do for everyone involved, to make sure the product was tested and passed prior to production and delivery.
At times, we voluntarily test products that we aren’t familiar with on an as-needed basis using the Eurofins lab testing facility.
